Why is a new portal necessary?

As the needs of our merchants have continued to evolve, we have needed to lean on technology partners to help meet some more complex needs. These partner relationships have been extremely positive for everyone involved, and have led to incredible success and growth for ourselves, our merchants, and our partners.

Partnering in this way allows Spoonity to focus on the things we are good at, creates opportunities for our partners to showcase their exceptional talents, and ensures that our merchants are being served to the highest quality possible.

Recognizing the value of those partnerships was the first step towards identifying the need for this updated portal, and everything that comes after it.

This updated portal represents our investment in creating a best-in-class developer experience for our partners - through enhanced documentation, guides and workshops, as well as convenience features like API playgrounds, authentication passthrough, and more.

What's launching now?

What you'll find today are our existing API reference materials, and some of the most important guides for getting started with the Spoonity platform. Both have been enhanced with improved UX, and added context to help make it even easier to integrate with the Spoonity platform.

Additionally, we've begun adding some of the pieces of our next-generation platform documentation, incuding a deep-dive into our new design system, Macondo.

Finally, we're also launching this blog at the same time, which will serve as an important repository for news about the portal, how engineering happens at Spoonity, and more.

What's coming next?

We have lots of exciting features planned for the portal, including a new API playground, more guides, and even private documentation for our tier 1 partners.

Some of you may have already received private beta invites to help us test the new portal. We plan on using that feedback to help tie-in authentication for the portal to provide tailored experiences for each partner. You can expect to learn more about this in the coming months.
